FAQ 

How far of a walk is it to campus?
The campus is only 5 minutes away by foot. To reach the far end of campus it will take approximately 15 minutes. All very close.
 
What should I bring?
Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, bedding, mattress cover (this is required for health standards), towels, shower curtain, garbage bags, trash can, ethernet cable, extension cord and laundry supplies. A vacuum is provided, but you will need to bring all other cleaning supplies. Students are NOT allowed to bring in furniture. 
 
What does my rent include?
All utilities are included in the rent, including internet and parking.
 
How do I pay rent?
There are several ways to pay rent. You can pay rent online with a card or e-check. There is a small fee, depending on your bank, to pay with a credit card online. You can always stop by the office, or pay over the phone with a card. Pay rent on time to avoid late fees.
 
How can I pay with financial aid?
Financial aid does not pay The Ridge directly. You are responsible for receiving your financial aid from your BYU-Idaho student account. Please call the financial aid office if you have any questions. (208) 496-1600
 
What is the apartment square footage?
Around 2,000 sq feet.
 
How many people are there in an apartment?
There are six students per apartment.
 
Are all bedrooms private?
Yes, all of our residents have their own bedroom.
 
What size are the beds?
All beds are twin XL.
 
Do I need rental insurance?
Rental insurance is not required, but we highly recommend it for your personal belongings.
 
How can I submit a maintenance request?
You login to your resident portal online, or you can call the office during office hours.
 
Do I have to make a deposit payment every semester?
No. Your deposit will carry through the semesters, except for Fall. Every new school year it is required that you pay a non-refundable $65 rollover fee in order to renew your contract. If you leave The Ridge, you must reapply for a new semester and make a new deposit.
 
Are pets allowed?
BYU-Idaho has a very strict "No Pet" policy for all of their approved housing communities. There is a Reasonable Accommodation Process that can allow certified Emotional Support and of course Service Animals. Please contact the management office and your doctor for more information.
